Website Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2026-05-23
Wireten Inc. ("Wireten," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at wireten.com (the "Website"). This Website Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from Visitors to the Website, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
By using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Website Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Website.
1. SCOPE OF THIS WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY
This Website Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect from Visitors who browse the Website at wireten.com, submit a contact form, sign up for marketing communications (if offered), or interact with our cookie consent banner. It does not cover information collected through the Wireten Platform service, which is addressed by a separate Platform Privacy Policy (see Section 2).
2. RELATIONSHIP TO THE PLATFORM PRIVACY POLICY
This Website Privacy Policy describes how Wireten handles information collected from visitors to the Wireten website at wireten.com (the "Website"). If you register for or use the Wireten Platform service, additional information we collect about your Platform use — including financial information, bank account details, invoice and transaction data, communications through the Platform, and other Platform-specific data — is governed by a separate Platform Privacy Policy presented to you at signup. The Platform Privacy Policy controls our collection, use, and disclosure of Platform-user data.
One-way subordination. This Website Privacy Policy does not modify, supersede, limit, or expand the Platform Privacy Policy. In case of any conflict, ambiguity, or overlap between this Website Privacy Policy and the Platform Privacy Policy with respect to (a) Platform-user data, (b) any data collected through the Platform service, or (c) any privacy right or choice tied to your status as a Platform user, the Platform Privacy Policy controls. The defined terms used in this Website Privacy Policy (including "Visitor" and "Website") have no application to the Platform Privacy Policy.
Dual status. If you are both a Visitor and a Platform user, this Website Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect about your Website activity. Information we collect about your Platform activity is governed exclusively by the Platform Privacy Policy, regardless of whether you also visited the Website during the same session.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect a limited amount of information from Visitors to the Website. The categories are:
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, message, and (if you choose to provide them) phone number and company name.
- Marketing communications sign-up (if offered): your email address and any optional fields you complete (such as name or company name) when you ask to receive updates from us.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and language preferences.
- Approximate location: general geographic location (city or region level) derived from your IP address, for analytics purposes.
- Usage data: pages visited, session duration, navigation paths, referring URLs, click and scroll interactions, and timestamps, collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 7.
3.3 Information from Analytics Providers
- Website analytics: aggregated usage patterns and Website performance metrics provided by our analytics provider (for example, Google Analytics or a comparable service).
We do not collect bank account information, tax identification numbers, invoice or transaction data, or other financial information through the Website. That information, if collected, is collected only through the Wireten Platform and is governed by the Platform Privacy Policy.
4. HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION
We use the information collected from the Website to:
- Respond to inquiries you submit through the contact form;
- Send you marketing communications you have requested (and provide an unsubscribe option in each such message);
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or attacks against the Website; and
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
5. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING
Where required by applicable law (such as the GDPR in the European Economic Area or the UK GDPR), we process Website-visitor information on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: for operating, securing, and improving the Website, for fraud and abuse prevention, and for responding to inquiries you initiate;
- Consent: for non-essential cookies and for marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time;
- Legal obligation: where processing is required to comply with applicable laws or respond to lawful requests; and
- Performance of a request: where processing is necessary to take steps you have asked us to take (such as replying to a contact form).
6. INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We share Website-visitor information only with the following categories of recipients:
6.1 Service Providers
We engage service providers that help us operate the Website, including a website hosting provider, a website analytics provider, a cookie consent management provider (if used), and an email delivery provider for contact-form replies and marketing communications. These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually required to use it only for the services they provide to us.
6.2 Legal and Regulatory Disclosures
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, court order, subpoena, or other lawful request, or is necessary to: protect the rights, property, or safety of Wireten, our users, or others; enforce our Website Terms of Service; or investigate or address suspected fraud, security, or technical issues.
6.3 Business Transfers
If Wireten is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, Website-visitor information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice (for example, on the Website) before any such transfer becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell Website-visitor information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
7.1 What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to operate, secure, and improve the Website. When you first visit, a cookie consent banner lets you accept or customize your cookie preferences.
7.2 Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential Cookies (Required): strictly necessary for the Website to function — for example, to remember your cookie consent choice, balance traffic, and maintain basic security. These cannot be disabled without impairing Website functionality.
- Analytics Cookies (Optional): used to understand how visitors interact with the Website. These cookies collect data including pages visited, time on page, referring URL, approximate geographic location (city/region level, derived from IP address), device type, browser type, and interactions (clicks, scrolls, form submissions). This data is aggregated. Analytics providers may store this data on servers in the United States or other jurisdictions. You can opt out through our cookie consent banner or your browser settings.
- Functional Cookies (Optional): remember your preferences and settings (such as cookie consent choices, form pre-fill, and display preferences) to provide a more personalized experience. Disabling these may require you to re-enter preferences on later visits.
7.3 Third-Party Analytics
We use third-party analytics providers to collect anonymous Website usage data. These providers use cookies to measure site performance and visitor behavior. We have configured our analytics tools to anonymize IP addresses where supported, and we do not enable advertising features, remarketing, or cross-device tracking. We do not sell, share, or provide analytics data to any third party beyond what is necessary to operate the analytics service. Third-party analytics providers are subject to their own privacy policies and terms.
7.4 Managing Your Preferences
You can manage cookie preferences at any time through the cookie consent banner or your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Website from working. We do not use advertising, behavioral targeting, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not participate in ad networks or sell data derived from cookies.
Consent model. For Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, non-essential cookies (analytics and functional) are set only after you provide affirmative opt-in consent through the cookie banner; until you consent, only strictly necessary cookies are placed. For Visitors in California and other U.S. states with a "do not sell or share" or opt-out regime, the cookie banner provides an opt-out control for analytics and functional cookies, and we honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control / GPC) where technically feasible. You may revisit and change your cookie choices at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the Website footer.
Advertising and marketing pixels. We do not currently use advertising or remarketing pixels (such as the Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads conversion or remarketing tags, or TikTok Pixel) on the Website. If we add any such pixel in the future, we will: (a) update this Policy and the Cookie Policy in advance; (b) categorize the pixel as a non-essential marketing cookie that requires opt-in in opt-in jurisdictions and is subject to opt-out in opt-out jurisdictions; and (c) configure the pixel to avoid transmitting sensitive form-field content (such as message bodies submitted through a contact form).
Session-replay and chat technology. We do not currently use session-replay or session-recording technologies on the Website (such as Hotjar session recordings, FullStory, LogRocket session capture, Smartlook, or similar tools). We do not currently operate a live-chat widget that records the substance of Visitor messages and shares them with a third-party processor. If we add any such technology in the future, we will update this Policy in advance and configure the technology in a manner intended to comply with applicable wiretap and recording laws, including the California Invasion of Privacy Act (Cal. Pen. Code § 630 et seq.) and comparable state laws.
7.5 Data Collected via Cookies
Through cookies and analytics technologies, we may collect: pages viewed; time and duration of visit; referring website or source; approximate geographic location (city/region); device type and operating system; browser type and version; screen resolution; interactions with page elements (button clicks, form submissions, scroll depth); and session identifiers. This data is used to understand site usage, improve our services, and protect Website security. It is not used to personally identify individual Visitors.
8. DATA SECURITY
Wireten maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Website-visitor information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These safeguards are designed to meet our obligations under applicable state data security laws, including the data security requirements of the New York SHIELD Act (N.Y. Gen. Bus. Law § 899-bb) and comparable state laws (for example, the Massachusetts data security regulations at 201 CMR 17.00 and California Civil Code § 1798.81.5), to the extent applicable to Website-visitor information. However, no transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. DATA RETENTION
We retain Website-visitor information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:
- Contact form submissions: typically retained for up to 24 months from the date of the inquiry (or, where applicable, from the date of the last related communication), unless (a) an ongoing relationship requires longer retention, (b) you become a Wireten Platform user (in which case Platform-related retention applies), or (c) retention is required to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements.
- Marketing communications data: retained while you are subscribed and for a short period after you unsubscribe, to honor your unsubscribe request.
- Cookie data: retained for the periods described in Section 7 and in the cookie consent banner.
- Analytics data: typically retained for 14 to 26 months in accordance with our analytics provider's default retention settings, after which it is aggregated or deleted.
When information is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
The Website is operated from the United States, and Website-visitor information may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Website, you consent to such transfers. Where required by law, we put in place appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
11. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to the Website-visitor information we hold about you:
- Access: request a copy of the information we hold about you;
- Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Deletion: request that we delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements;
- Portability: request your information in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Restriction: request that we limit how we process your information in certain circumstances;
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
- Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on consent (for example, optional cookies or marketing emails), withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30 days). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
11.1 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"):
- Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (see the "do not sell or share" disclosure below).
- Right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to uses necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected by an average consumer (see the "sensitive personal information" disclosure below).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Categories collected in the prior 12 months. In the 12 months preceding the "Last Updated" date of this Policy, we have collected the following CCPA categories of personal information about California Visitors to the Website, in each case limited as described below: (a) Identifiers — name, email address, phone number (if voluntarily provided), and IP address; (b) Internet or other electronic network activity information — pages visited, session duration, referring URLs, click and scroll interactions, and timestamps (as described in Section 3.2); (c) Geolocation data — approximate, city/region level only, derived from IP address; and, only where a Visitor voluntarily provides it through a contact form or marketing-signup field, (d) Professional or employment-related information — limited to company name or job-related context the Visitor chooses to share when describing the nature of an inquiry. We do not collect, through the Website, the following CCPA categories: characteristics of protected classifications; biometric information; sensitive personal information (as defined in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(ae)); inferences used to create a consumer profile; commercial information about purchases or purchasing histories; precise geolocation; education information; or any category not enumerated above. The sources, business purposes, and categories of recipients for each collected category are described in Sections 3, 4, and 6.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Wireten does not sell personal information collected through the Website and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Because we do not engage in either activity, we do not provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link; this Policy serves as the disclosure of our non-sale/non-share posture. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide the required opt-out mechanism before any sale or sharing begins.
Sensitive Personal Information. Wireten does not collect sensitive personal information through the Website (as defined under the CCPA/CPRA), and we do not use any information we collect through the Website for purposes that would trigger the right to limit. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide the required limitation mechanism.
Financial incentives. Wireten does not offer financial incentives or price/service differences in exchange for the collection, sale, or retention of personal information.
How to submit a request. California residents may submit a request to know, delete, correct, or limit by emailing privacy@wireten.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" or by using the contact form at wireten.com/contact. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require written proof of the agent's authorization and may verify your identity directly. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, with notice to you), as required by the CCPA/CPRA.
Appeals. If we deny your request in whole or in part, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response email or by emailing privacy@wireten.com with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal."
11.2 European, UK, and Swiss Data Protection Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / FADP)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the rights listed at the start of this Section 11 under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the UK GDPR, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, as applicable.
Data controller. For Website-visitor information, the data controller is Wireten Inc., reachable at privacy@wireten.com.
International transfers. Website-visitor information is transferred to and processed in the United States. For transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, where applicable) with our service providers, supplemented by additional safeguards where required.
Right to lodge a complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner; in the EEA, the supervisory authority of the member state where you reside, work, or where the alleged infringement occurred).
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Website is intended for adult business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided information through the Website, please contact us using the details in Section 16.
13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not operate. This Policy does not apply to those third-party services, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party service you access from the Website.
14. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION
In the event of a security incident involving Website-visitor information that triggers a notification obligation under applicable law, Wireten will provide the notifications required by, and only as required by, the applicable data breach notification law of the jurisdiction(s) where affected Visitors reside. Depending on the facts and the applicable law, this may include notice to affected Visitors, applicable state attorneys general, consumer reporting agencies, and other regulators. Examples of laws that may apply include the New York SHIELD Act, the California breach notification statute at Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1798.29 and 1798.82, the breach notification statutes of other U.S. states, and, where applicable, GDPR Articles 33 and 34.
Notice content, format, timing, recipients, and method will be determined by the requirements of the applicable statute(s). Nothing in this Section creates a contractual notification obligation that exceeds what the applicable statute requires, and nothing in this Section is a waiver of any defense, safe harbor, exception, or risk-of-harm threshold available to Wireten under the applicable statute(s).
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Website Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or business operations. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on the Website with a revised "Last Updated" date and provide conspicuous advance notice through a banner, pop-up, or similar mechanism, and, where required by law (including where a material change would expand the categories of personal information collected or the purposes of use), provide additional notice (such as by email to Visitors who have provided an email address). Material changes take effect on the date stated in the notice, which shall not be earlier than the revised "Last Updated" date. Non-material changes (such as corrections, clarifications, or formatting) take effect on posting. Where applicable law requires affirmative renewed consent for a material change (for example, expanded cookie use in opt-in jurisdictions), we will obtain that consent before applying the change to you.
